Timm's The BMW M60 M62 and M62TU Engine Vacuum Leaks Around The Inlet Manifold When the M60 and M62 engine gets a few miles and years under its belt the rubbery bits that seal the inlet manifold start to go rigid and will allow un-metered air into the inlet manifold. The leaks come from the PCV valve itself, the seal between the PCV and throttle body and manifold, the inlet manifold gaskets (the seals between the inlet manifold and the heads) and a number of rubber blanking caps that seal- off unused ports. These leaks cause running problems, mainly at tick-over to start with, but as the additive adaptations fail to compensate, the multiplicative adaptations skew the mixture at cruising speed making the mixture over-rich - and this may cause problems with the catalytic converters. Below are the routines needed to repair these problems, including a new routine for re-sealing the manifold gaskets using no new parts
